Funding for workplace based delivery of NVQs
WAMITAB is working hard in order to secure sources of funding that will benefit individuals employed by companies and orgainisations in the Waste Management Industry. There are a number of Government and other sources available but it is currently unclear how this will affect the Waste Management Industry, however it is expected that funding will become more difficult to access for NVQ only programmes.
Skills for Life Programmes
WAMITAB is an Awarding body for the Skills for Life Qualifications in Adult Literacy and Adult Numeracy. There is National Funding available for all Adult Literacy and Adult Numeracy qualifications. WAMITAB is working with the LSC in order to ensure that all individuals who have a Skills for Life need are able to access funding to support thier learning in these important topic areas.
There is some limited funding available in Scoltland through the Learning Enterprise Companies (LEC). This funding is available to employer organisations and is provided on a local priority basis.
WAMITAB is working with key partners in Scotland to establish a central fund for the Waste Management Industry. This work is in the early stages of negotiation and will not be available for some time.
There is some limited funding for trainiing and development in Wales however it is becoming very difficult to access.
WAMITAB is currently working to identify sources of funding for Northern Ireland.
