Vocationally Related Qualifications

New Technologies VRQs

Vocationally Related Qualifications are stand alone qualifications based on the needs of the industry. They are based on the National Occupational Standards and are submitted to the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) for inclusion in the National Qualifications Framework. They are typically delivered through short courses and are quality assured through the normal WAMITAB assessment and verification arrangements with outcomes being measured by a combination of testing and a workplaced based assignement.

The first two of these new qualifications for the Waste Management Industry are based on the work carried out by the DEFRA Waste Implementation Programme (WIP).

Other VRQs will be developed by WAMITAB as the needs for this type of qualification are identified. For a brief overview of these training courses click here.
