Improving your employees' basic skills can improve your profits!

Skills for Life - Skill Development

WAMITAB can offer specialist support for your staff with their literacy and numeracy needs. We start with a basic diagnostic assessment which highlights strengths and focuses on developmental needs. We offer this service as flexible delivery on-site at your premises.

Ask yourself a few questions to see if your company will benefit.

How many hours do you waste every day in putting things right?

For example:

  • Asking staff to complete documentation correctly
  • Correcting poorly completed timesheets
  • Investigating accidents or near misses
  • Investigating defects on vehicles
  • Complaints from your customers about poor communication or poor customer service

So, if you wish your staff could spell better or could fill in their timesheets accurately or understood health & safety or work instructions more clearly - WAMITAB can help!

Are you seeing your profits diminish? - Look at the statistics

  • The average company employing 1,000 people or more could save £500 per person if the basic skills of employees were improved - that's half a million pounds, just from improving your staff's basic skills! (Source: Basic Skills Agency, 1993.)

Almost half of all UK adults are not fully numerate and 5 million are not functionally literate. Skills for Life skills development workshops can deliver real results for your workforce.

Skills Development sessions are delivered by professional tutors who provide a facilitative and supportive learning environment. Sessions are held on-site at your premises, which, means that learning takes place in familiar surroundings.

Organisations that have taken up the challenge and developed their employee's basic skills have seen an improvement to their bottom line in terms of reductions in sickness/absence, reductions in accidents or near misses, reductions in staff turnover and improvements in customer service.
