In today's competitive employment market, finding and getting a job can be a tough challenge, and having the skills, knowledge and competence to differentiate yourself as a capable and confident applicant can make all the difference.
With this in mind, WAMITAB have developed a suite of pre-employment qualifications designed to help people gain employment, become more employable and progress in education and training:
WAMITAB Entry Level Award In Preparing for Employment (Entry 2)
WAMITAB Entry Level Award In Preparing for Employment (Entry 3)
WAMITAB Level 1 Award In Preparing for Employment
WAMITAB Level 2 Award In Preparing for Employment
Available from September 2011, the qualifications offer bite-sized 'units' of learning which will give candidates vital employability and life-skills in a format that is both engaging and motivating.
The qualifications are available at Entry 2, Entry 3, Level 1 and Level 2. This will allow for progression and ensure that candidates are have a stairway to success.
These qualifications have Mandatory Units which cover important topics such as Health and Safety and Rights and Responsibilities in the workplace.
There are also a wide range of Option Units, covering areas such as interview skills, Information Technology, success at work, looking and applying for work and many more.
At Level 1 and Level 2 there are option units available which appear in numerous WAMITAB qualifications. Candidates who choose these units set a platform for future learning in the Waste, Recycling, Cleansing, Facilities Management and Resource Management sectors.
Your programme of learning will depend on which WAMITAB Approved Centre you are studying with, but could include classroom learning, workshops or on the job training.
When you register with one of our Centres they will discuss your training requirements and capabilities with you and will help you decide which qualification is right for you. As a guide, we suggest:
Entry 2: suitable for candidates that are new to looking for a job and/or progressing further in education and need to improve skills in order to get started.
Entry 3: suitable for candidates with some experience working, who want to gain further skills and confidence to become more employable or continue in education.
Level 1: suitable for experienced workers looking to build on skills and experience or continue in education.
Level 2: suitable for people new to looking for a job and/or progressing further in education.
For WAMITAB Approved Centres, a Scheme Approval process is in place. Please send the completed Scheme Approval Form to katie.cockburn@wamitab.org.uk.
Centres who are not currently working with WAMITAB as an Approved Centre, will need to complete a Centre Approval Process.
